I haven’t listened to much of his work since early Fridge. This is a really nice record!

Admittedly my least favorite of their 4 albums, I’d forgotten how hard the back half of Sonic’s side goes. I never knew his killer line, “Your eyes. It’s a day’s work to look into them” was a Laurie Anderson nod.

I got sucked in by the novelty of the opening track but the rest of the album is fantastic. 45 years later and not much else sounds like this!

It may not be - but I try to find things locally whenever possible so a used copy showing up was a great surprise!

Beautifully recorded, less guitar-forward versions of these songs compared to their live counterparts.

Dustin Hoffman is excellent as is How it Ends. Was eagerly waiting for Silver Rising. Not sure how it stacks up yet.

Animal Collective: Merriweather Post Pavillion

Listening to the artist for the first time, a friend described this as a panic attack. I generally find it pretty uplifting but I get it.

I saw it this week. Strongly disliked the first 80% and enjoyed the finale. Was surprised to see who directed it.

I have only bought a few of their records but the second LP in this set 100% sold me on the band. Spent the last 49 years being too judgmental apparently

I was never a fan of any of these bands (and TTWS was frustrating when searching for Coil LPs on eBay)….but DMB is still a thing.

I’ve heard a lot of their live music recently….and it’s fine I guess. I’m getting dragged to see them this Summer and I just hope he doesn’t vocalize over every note…
