Possibly, although that’s maybe crediting him with foresight he doesn’t possess, and which doesn’t reflect his (and Musk’s) childlike lack of impulse control, borne of extreme privilege.

Yes, I was shocked too - that she compares it to Oxbridge but doesn’t mention Yale’s links to Wrexham. Having said that, it was a rally in Wrexham that began her fall from grace, so she prob doesn’t remember it fondly.

It’s dangerous to underestimate the calculating nature of these people but, equally, it feels like they’re just wanting to dominate the headlines with little regard for the consequences.

I agree, and as I know only too well from my professional life, Britain really struggles to protect its cultural assets. We’ve been fan-owned and they (the fans) saved the club. But football’s a commercial game and it’s the world we live in - we’ve been lucky, but let’s enjoy the ride.

Yes, the article makes some good points. The quote itself, though, feels patronising as Wrexham fans tend to be more discerning about their owners, given past experiences. Basically, they can spot a bad ‘un !

Resentment or jealousy? Fetishisation of the working classes, or celebration. Depends who you support I suppose. But in poorer areas, like Wrexham, the exposure has been welcome and goes beyond football.

I think student loans/interest are an abomination but the ‘£200k’ students mentioned here studied 4 or 5 different courses each, which is very unusual! The piece does acknowledge the avg. debt is £48k - maybe go with this headline (it’s shocking enough!)

Not sure if it’s the historian in me, but if a tagline claims that ‘many are asking whether the chancellor will survive in post’ I’d expect to see some evidence from at least one of those ‘many’ in the accompanying piece🤔
