I'm not even a major "Aliens" fan, but I can't tell you how goddamn badly I want that proposed "Operation: Aliens" cartoon Kenner pitched FOX. The first pic are cels made for one of the toy commercials, but Kenner decided on footage from the film instead (the cheaper option).

This is tech/marketing people leveraging decades of science fiction media presenting "AI" as generally encyclopedic and infallible. People think they're getting JARVIS, when what they're getting is the machine version of that annoying dude in your dorm confidently spouting bullshit on every subject

"AI" is absolutely and ONLY a marketing term, and at this point if it's being used, the intent behind it is to overpromise to the consumer/end user on the program's actual capabilities. And, of course, none of the "AI" is actually intelligent in any meaningful way.
