I wanted to thank everyone for sharing the PhD opportunity in animal migration. I received ~100 applications from all over the world and have found someone with the skills I was looking for. There were so many talented students with similar skills, and it was extremely challenging to choose one.

29.05.2025 08:09 โ ๐ 34 ๐ 36 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 2Peer review is a central part of scientific discussion. Reviewers should seek improving both the manuscript and the research behind it & authors should consider fair suggestions as a kind contribution to their work. Under the guidance of good editors, this improves the quality of published science ๐งช
14.06.2025 09:48 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Most rejections happen not because the science is bad, but because authors handle reviewer comments poorly.
A good response is easy to follow and shows a willingness to improve.

Now I've had a chance to read Andrea Sella's article in @chemistryworld.com on why he returned his Royal Society Faraday Medal. I recommend that you read it too. It's inspiring, though inevitably also disturbing, in these troubled times.
