The Transgender female athletes advantage is a myth.
YouTube video by Kirsti Miller30 The Transgender female athletes advantage is a myth.

Since trans athletes were first eligible to compete
at the Olympics over 7,500 medals have been awarded over 12 Olympic Games.

In that time trans women athletes haven't won a single Olympic Medal of any colour not even a solitary team or relay bronze.

How many children should suffer for the β€œsick and twisted agenda”?

You know which other government put children in detention aka concentration camps?

β€œNever again”, they said and laughed.

Early morning commuter.

Pigeons get a bad rap, but they are incredibly curious, intelligent, and resilient creatures surviving in harsh urban contexts.

And yet, they raise their young, play and make the best of it. They are very social, monogamous, and show grief when one of theirs dies.

I am not sure what I find more impressive: the topic itself or the fact that a family check-in call can have a formal agenda. It’s giving me ideas.

Yep. Used to take my daily commute picture and then delete most of them so I can take exactly the same one (but maybe be a bit better) the next day. Doesn’t get old.

How ICE Already Knows Who Minneapolis Protesters Are

A Minnesota woman observing ICE agents in her car was cornered on one-way streets. An agent approached, called her by nameβ€”citing facial recognition. Days later, her Global Entry and TSA privileges were revoked, with no explanation.

Two trees growing next to each other in a wintry landscape. Their shapes trace each other, branches barely touching, never entangled.

Two trees growing next to each other in a wintry landscape. Their shapes trace each other, branches barely touching, never entangled.

Look how these two #trees respect each other’s living space. Their shapes trace each other, barely touching.

In spring and summer neither shades the other, so they both can get enough sunlight and be nourished.

Maybe they’re mother and child?

If trees can care for each other, so can we.

His parents are legal asylum seekers with no criminal record.

This looks like a porcini or Bolete mushroom (I think. Don’t take me at my word). If so it is edible and delicious (and costs much in a pasta at a good restaurant).

A while back, I read this quiet but fierce meditation on war, how it shows up in art, and on what it does to those who wage it and those who are on the receiving end.

And I still think about it.

Now feels like the right time to recommend it as an essential read.

Check out #45! 😭😭😭 My little kid nerdy heart loves this because I grew up looking forward to this magazine included with the Sunday paper every week. I am so honored to see my book on this list in a magazine that means so much to me. Thank you, PARADE Magazine!

Gentle alpine hills with a scattering of pine trees, their branches filled with snow. A cloud is setting in, obscuring the farthest trees.

A little winter magic. It’s gray and rainy down in the valleys. But up here, the fresh snow has turned everything into a postcard and hushed all the sounds except branches cracking under its weight or an occasional chirp of a bird.

A day not spent on screens is a day worth living.

An old log - a tree that died - still full of life, as it became a host to a micro forest of mosses and lichens, all teeming with life, even on this mild winter day.

Nature is so miraculous, but we often walk past these little miracles completely oblivious.

New UCC paper shows how low beef and sheep systems are for net digestible protein per hectare: they produce protein for 2–3 people per ha, versus ~23 for milk and ~40 for legumes. That’s ~15Γ— more digestible protein per hectare from legumes than beef.
