A small bird with shiny green scale-like feathers perches on a light brown stick. Its wings, which are a combination of green, yellow, orange, blue, and black, are the only multi-colored thing on this bird. The rest of it is a vibrant, intoxicating bright green that shines in the sunlight.

The green on this Blue-vented hummingbird is mesmerizing and intoxicating. I wish Costa Rica was closer to me!

With a fish caught in its mouth, a dark blue bird with spiky head feathers sits on a mossy and lichen-covered branch. A band of white goes around its neck.

I didn't even know we had any fish in our pond until this pretty Belted Kingfisher found one!
