Thanks to Hamilton Spectator for a story on the facts and feelings about downtown (and citywide) safety. As someone who lives downtown, be wary of those who push a fear mongering narrative. Itβs an urban environment, for sure, but itβs hardly the hellscape some are pushing. Again, IMO.
19.07.2025 15:06 β π 6 π 5 π¬ 4 π 2A map of the Toronto Subway designed by Jelly Brothers. The map is colour coded with the corresponding dates each segment of the system was built, ie. the first 12 stations were built in 1954, from Union to Eglinton. Behind the map there are illustrated elements such as a TTC token, a TTC subway sign, transfer machine, subway car front and side view, some payphones, signage, and a pigeon. It is available as both an 8x10 and 16x20 print at our tent at Big on Bloor this weekend (July 19 & 20 2025) on Bloor West between Dufferin and Lansdowne in Toronto.

Mug side A with the text "lets start a massage train"
Mug side B with creepy babies
Went to 'Handmade Hamilton' and bought a bunch of fun stuff.
Like this mug from (insta) @happinessrun where they said "I love when people like weird stuff" as I bought it.
It's very weird. And I like it.
The word "Hamilton" is on fire. Text beneath it reads "this fucking place I swear to god"
Text reads "Westdale Woods". There is an illustration of a wooded path behind it.
And these prints from @jellybros.bsky.social, which I'll collectively be refering to as "the paradox that is #HamOnt".
