I saw The Lobster in the theater and wow I did not know that I could be that mad about a movie advertised to me as "quirky comedy"

01.02.2026 17:25 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I went directly to our local (big chain) pharmacy and they said you don't even need an appt for a measles boost! AND insurance covered it! π

A sunflower-shaped cake pan has been filled with colored water, and the resulting ice shape is so pretty!
A big piece of clear ice shaped like a giant wiggly sperm
Your annual reminder that when it's this cold out, the responsible thing to do is fill water balloons and fancy cake pans with water (& food coloring). The only good ice!!
23.01.2026 15:18 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0100% that it's a great tool for "rewrite this Eileen-words explanation to use business-speak instead" and I'm very glad that I don't have to use my human brain to do that, and also,,,,

03.12.2025 21:11 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Not enough people know about Victoria Goddard's Hands of the Emperor?! Is it crazy long, yes. Is it about good people just trying to be decent and support each other and run a good government, yes. SO COZY!!!!
01.12.2025 03:36 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Truly even the specialists are winging it!! π€·ββοΈ
If you have the attention/energy for it, I have enjoyed exploring the talks and resources at migraineworldsummit.com β basically a buncha experts with lots of different angles and topics, aimed at non-specialists.
bodies: WHY!!!!!
24.11.2025 15:19 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0(Which is part of why it's important to take medication early in a migraine instead of Toughing It Out β to help prevent said grooves from forming.)
24.11.2025 14:22 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0My neurologist explained it as migraineur brains developing, like, behavioral grooves β the brain gets so used to being in that state, an incredibly small trigger (that for other people, or a year earlier, would be benign) is too much: blammo!
24.11.2025 14:18 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0(not meant as an anger complaint! except about my brain I guess, I will complain about that all the live long day)
24.11.2025 03:09 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0a fun fact, looking at images of this kind of shit can trigger it in people whose brains are prone
ask me how I know, says the person who once walked by an art gallery full of paintings made by a lady about her migraines
The part where every little grocery/convenience store has truly excellent gazpacho in cute cartons π
09.11.2025 02:49 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0One of my most favorite cozy reads (Hands of the Emperor, Victoria Goddard) does this masterfully β there's an entire giant catastrophe that pre-dates the events of the book and it's often referenced but never explained or detailed and she uses it SO WELL

27.10.2025 20:16 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0in archery class last week I got SO MAD that when I slowed down and took calm breaths and grounded my feet and engaged my core,,, I hit the target right in the center
RUDE
I would love to see the range of responses this gets, it's like that time Elmo asked how everyone was doing
24.10.2025 21:53 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Also it's not even good??? I was like "well, I *am* trying to throw together a basic project tracker, that seems AI-able" but,,, no
02.10.2025 14:00 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Sure, but if I was city-livin' there's a good chance I'd need to wrestle it up stairs or into a weird back shed where removing weight would make it easier!
19.09.2025 20:47 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0OH ALSO, the batteries are heavy and removing them makes wrangling the bike into rack/car/etc MUCH easier. So we end up removing them almost every time we ride. (We're very rural, often driving the bikes to trails elsewhere.)
19.09.2025 17:09 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0We have two bikes and it's much easier to bring both batteries in, and charge them one-after-another, than to wrangle two chargers or swap the bikes' parking spot halfway through. (And it's so fussy to take out the battery, I also need the key to put it back in?? WHY)
19.09.2025 17:05 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0we refer to this baptism as "mystery city water" and we have to ALWAYS assume it is innocuous AC water
the alternative is not worth contemplating
