on the picket line in Houlton this morning. We need safe nurse/patient ratios and adequate pay and benefits for the nurses who work so hard to care for all of us.

I applaud the Maine Public Utilities Commission’s decision to reject the rate hike increase. Mainers are already paying some of the highest utility costs in the country. We need to be doing more to bring down the costs for Mainers who are already struggling to get ahead.

I’ll be thinking of Grandpa Bellows and how he put his life on the line to fight Hitler and the Nazis overseas and then came home to teach hundreds of students over a lifetime, just as so many other veterans returned home to serve.

Everywhere I go people say they want to see leaders who won’t cave. It’s time to stand strong for what we believe in. At MSEA Friday night, I heard it a lot: when we fight, we win!

Thanks to the Knox county dems for a great afternoon! It’s always great to be with folks and get to hear what they think Maine’s next governor needs to know.

In the wake of this tragedy, we must affirm the strength of our community, our fortitude to continue, and what it means to care for our neighbors no matter the struggle. I was honored to join neighbors in the community garden remembrance project, as we look to bring light from the darkness.

We had a great time in Boothbay last night talking about hope and courage.

I was honored when Abbe said I was one of the best listeners in politics because it’s core to who I am. As governor, I’ll listen first and always put the people of Maine over everything else.

Amazing turnout everywhere! I was in Yarmouth, Saco, South Portland & Portland today. 250 years ago today, after the burning of Portland by the British, our ancestors said, “No King but God.” Today thousands of Mainers echoed our ancestors in saying No Kings. It was a good day for democracy.

Yesterday was a great day to celebrate what makes Maine great! After celebrating Maine businesses with the Maine Chamber of Commerce, we met with a group of Mainers in Bangor about what they want to see in our next governor.

On Indigenous People’s Day I’m proud to reiterate my support for tribal sovereignty on day one.

I’m proud of where I come from. The working class taught me grit, gratitude, and how to stretch a dollar.

I’m fighting for a Maine where a hard day’s work means you can stand tall and sleep easy.

Spending time with Mainers, getting to hear what’s on their minds, is my favorite part of running. From Lewiston to Brooksville, folks are concerned about the cost of living, protecting health care and preserving our democracy.
