SCOTUS undermining state vaccine requirements reminds me of how the religious exemption was handled in Alabama when I lived there. The health department was gloriously picky-- couldn't be a personal religious view, had to be part of an established religion. Catholics would ask for exemption

Our PA's for Partnership Medicaid in California have been bizarre this yr. They deny it and on the same page say to rx an alt which is the SAME EXACT thing 🫠. Then we appeal and it says why did you submit, you don't need a PA for this, it's covered. I save to show parents it wasn't me lol.

I had a literal rocket scientist parent once who thought he could interpret a med research paper but was wrong. I mean dude was brilliant. I told him hey my dad was a physicist and I took advanced calculus and physics. Could I read a paper in your field and get it?

Not just for vaccines but lab tests, etc. Pretest probabilities, tests of unblinding-- more than just the basics. Enough to help them understand how much background depth is needed to interpret a publication.
