Consider this me hitting you up! I've got an AP show I'll be producing probably in late '26 or early '27 that I'm already gathering resources for, and a soundtrack would be just the thing.

My AP is called Halley's Children, it's a story about people given powers and immortality by Halley's Comet and seeking to learn the truth behind their empowerment. It's also a story about finding hope for humanity even in the midst of a hostile world. Means a lot to me.

Honestly, so much about my life is good right now. Think how amazing I'd be doing if we *weren't* living through a fascist uprising? Or if I didn't have to move next year, because state politicians wouldn't be trying to outlaw me.

It'd be fucking idyllic.

There are games with the idea that the player characters are doomed — Mothership, Hunt, etc. Those are the exceptions, and I love APs on those kinds of games. I'm talking about games where failure is possible but not an expectation.

I want to be clear that there is no wrong answer here. Dimension 20 and Critical Role have famously allowed characters to defy death.
If failure occurs, what are your plans for the bad ending? How do you make the possibility of failure interesting and fulfilling for the audience and the players?

I listen to a lot of Actual Play. Like more than I think people can imagine. Oftentimes, the player characters are the "winners," heroes of their story who emerge triumphant. We talk a lot about players accepting failure and utilizing it to push the narrative, but what about the GM?

Wildlife tracking! I'm reposting things I made this past year. If you look closely at the deer tracks you'll see I added the hint that they're double registering (hind foot is stepping into the same spot as front foot).

I feel like that "art as competition" attitude usually comes from people who aren't professional artists, and/or artists whose emotional development ended in school and think you get points in real life.

Pro tip: you'll never create your best work if you're driven by wanting to "beat" someone.

Like, maybe it'd be different if I was literally competing for the same job with someone, but I'm an indie cartoonist. I only benefit from other creative people achieving their goals. Also I'm not a sociopath?

One of the essential joys in my life is to see my friends succeed in their art, so it's bizarre whenever someone goes "are you ever jealous that X has a TV show," or "it's gotta drive you nuts that Y has a bestselling graphic novel."

What part of your brain atrophied to make you think like that???
