One thing that doing creative work teaches you is that ideas are worth nothing. Anybody can have an idea. In a writers room you have to come up with a hundred ideas a day, and most of those don’t make the page. It’s the work of making something that gives it value. The patina of humanity.

As someone who was already super critical of subtitles during the early 2000s (from working at an anime DVD licensing house that hand-timed subtitles and in-house translated) I can only imagine how bad they are overall now -_-

Some of the strongest/best reactions I've experienced in movie theaters were with an NYC crowd for Jackie Chan and Jet Li films.

Also, there's nothing quite like a audience "OHHHHH!!!" moment in an action film like in The Raid when he jumps backwards dragging the guy onto the broken door frame 😄

Part of and brainstorming process is evaluating the ideas. There are many techniques that can be used to evaluate ideas but but you need the capacity to think, understand, and judge regardless of the process.

If you can't think enough to come up with ideas, can you think enough to evaluate them?

Twitter is now 75% bot activity. The dead internet theory aint a theory anymore.

Most types of business exhibit linear growth. But VC will only fund exponential growth.

The result: companies that would create a lot of jobs and actually maintain their products never get funded and never start. If you must hire more to make more product, that's unacceptable linear growth.

Even if I was at all interested in the glasses, as a longtime glasses wearer, it's so incredibly unlikely whatever style they come out with would be one I'd want for my face

(This sentiment is especially fresh since I just went to four stores to find a pair of glasses I liked)

It's a valid critique! During GDC I actually met with someone from Valve who said they were working on the video player. I'll send this suggestion along!

Absolutely sucks to see people I care about succumb to ai offloading. Piece by piece replacing their creativity, voice and opinions with dice rolls. Not faster or better, just less present in their own lives.

Hmm I'm not sure how to test for that. It looks like the volume works like it did before where once you mute a video, every new page you load is muted, but if you have a video with sound on, then pages you visit will have sound on.

I know I am but one voice in a chorus all yelling into the void but I want to remind folks that I am still open for freelance or short-term contract work! I'd love to help you design your game, whether it's on the narrative side or quests / mission design. Need journal text written? I'm your guy!
