The โ€˜Varsity Bluesโ€™ Felon Who Spent Under $5,000 to Create an Anti-Mamdani Deepfake Video A three-minute video that shows a fake Zohran Mamdani dancing while New York burns is one of many deepfakes surfacing in the New York mayoral race and beyond.

A story for our times.

Two federal prosecutors have been placed on leave at the direction of the White House after filing a sentencing memo seeking 27 months in prison for a pardoned Jan. 6 rioter who brought illegal guns and ammunition to President Obama's house in 2023.

-Trump pardoned Binance's founder after a $2B deal with his crypto firm
-Hegseth awards a DoD contract to a Don Jr.-backed firm
-Trump orders his DOJ cronies pay him $230M in "compensation"

Yes, the word "important" does a lot of work though in the academic mind. A good exercise is to talk to parents of students during recruitment days in order to make the discipline relevant to their lives. I can't say I've always convinced them.

A lot of classes are real. It doesn't mean students are engaged or very interested in those classes. A model for universities in which teachers create classes according to what will most interest students? Seems like a shortlived idea.

for the ethnic cleansing of Gaza. This is what he wanted. In Israel, you can read a dozen articles about this in the top newspaper every single day. This strategy, a break w/ the Democrats, preceded Biden by well over a decade. Here we are now & we're adopting Trump revisionism to explain our 2/3

This is just more circular infighting of the left. We have fascism now as a result. Youn have to admire the Trump cult, they know what political power is. Whereas we misread international diplomacy. The right sees the obvious: Netanyahu threw in w/ Endtimers because they were the best bet for 1/2

UVa didn't protect its students who were being beaten up by the "fine people" chanting "Jews will not replace us" at the Nazi march several years back. So this fits.

2. Those troops arrived in the District in August 2025, after President Trump decided to flood
D.C. neighborhoods with National Guard members from around the country. A few weeks passed,
and yet the troops remained. Given the roughly 200-year-old tradition of civilian law enforcement
in the United States, Mr. Oโ€™Hara was deeply concerned about the normalization of troops patrolling
D.C. neighborhoods. And so, he began protesting the Guard membersโ€™ presence by walking several
feet behind them when he saw them in the community. Using his phone and sometimes a small
speaker, he played The Imperial March as he walked, keeping the music at a volume that was
audible but not blaring. Mr. Oโ€™Hara recorded the encounters and posted the videos on his TikTok
account, where millions of people have viewed them.
3. Ohio National Guard member Sgt. Devon Beck was not amused by this satire. On
September 11, 2025, Mr. Oโ€™Hara saw Sgt. Beck, along with several other Guard members, walking
in uniform in the Logan Circle neighborhood, near the intersection of 14th and R Streets NW. Mr.
Oโ€™Hara calmly walked behind the Guard members, began playing The Imperial March aloud on
his phone, and started recording. In less than two minutes, Sgt. Beck turned around and threatened
to call D.C. police officers to โ€œhandleโ€ Mr. Oโ€™Hara if he persisted. Mr. Oโ€™Hara continued recording
and playing the music. Sgt. Beck contacted the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD). Defendant
MPD Officers Brown, Campbell, Reyes-Benigno, and Lopez Martinez came to the scene and, in
essence, did what Sgt. Beck had threatened, putting Mr. Oโ€™Hara in handcuffs and preventing him
from continuing his peaceful protest.

ACLU is suing an OH Guard and some MPD cops for detaining him for playing the Imperial March behind the OH Guard.

They're claiming battery against the DC cops who detained the plaintiff.

Did the New York Times have an editorial meeting where they said something like โ€œthese are trustworthy people, we should take their word, put it headlines, thatโ€™s good journalism.โ€

Did they go so far as to say โ€œwe should help the Trump administration sell this actionโ€?

Or do they just sorta do it?

Tell me a scenario in which Trump accepts that his completed ballroom is being used by a Democrat or a Republican he hates. This is, literally, a monument to permanence. Itโ€™s not the action of someone planning to leave.
