Longtime concern about injustices, particularly transparency & intellectual property. Pirate/Fusion candidate for Bennelong. My critique of Labor - not what the LNP says, they'd be worse, but Labor are disappointing. https://johnaugust.com.au

I recently released a look at an alternative to the theory of relativity - Ritzian physics -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uFe7NdoGDYw - how by taking a different fork, you can go in a very different direction - and some astronomical observations appear to be traveling faster than light.

Yes, agree. I feel that in voting for Keating, I helped condemn Australia to four terms of Howard. Hewson was measured and thoughtful, not like the Libs now. Apparently Hawke said after it was all over, something like "you should have kept the plans in the bottom drawer for after you were elected".

It does also feel like supermarkets want to herd large volumes of customers, as compared to small stores with more personal relationships with known customers. When you start to "herd" customers, though, you lose something along the way.

Interesting the increase in crime is a in Victoria. I wonder why?

Mind you, I can think of different reasons for crime, which are worth distinguishing.

There's crime driven by poverty shoplifting: unlikely to be violent.

Then there's individual and violent - criminal & lastly, organised crime.

Why didn’t the productivity Roundtable discuss the increased productivity of ndis clients?

Why didn’t anyone talk about how to integrate ndis supports into whole system … way more productive if there were less restrictions and more trust of clients

Somehow all the happy talk about how much "productivity" will be unleashed by the "AI revolution" always forgets to mention their massive environmental costs #auspol

In the US, some people are on board with the whole Jewish bankers running the world conspiracy thing at the same time as they support Israel against the Arabs. It's reasonable to think there might be something similar here.

If you don't have patience to listen to the whole thing ( listen for mention of Ukraine), let me know and I'll hunt through the text. I don't like the AIIA, but I can find it conveniently here, and must suffer to post a link, from about a year ago: www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_LN...

Going off on a bit of a historical tangent - I recall Howard dismissing the Australian anti-Iraq war protests as "a mob", but then celebrating the anti-China protests in Hong Kong. It wouldn't be the first time someone's sought excuses to dismiss concerns held by other Australians.

Terror-ism is the use of terror for political ends. That being the use of violence, so people are scared of that violence. It does not matter whether the fight is a moral one against oppression - hence one man's terrorist being another's freedom fighter. For sure, the word's meaning has been lost.
