The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

A man rushed to the Broadview ICE facility searching for his wife. They followed every legal step, but ICE took her into another room and she vanished. He tracked her phone there when the signal died. Police told him to β€œlook up her name online.” He sat in the parking lot, weeping, with no answers.

So the oldest person ever to become president keeps falling asleep in his office during public events and there’s no big public discussion on how this is a coverup or how republicans are lying to us about how this government is running?

During an event on Thursday, Donald Trump seemed to repeatedly struggle to keep his eyes open.

A Washington Post analysis of multiple video feeds found that Trump spent roughly 20 minutes battling to keep his eyes open.

Elections in democracies determine who administers the government; they do not alter whom the government is for. Under any administration, Republican or Democratic, the United States government exists to serve the people of the United States, regardless of their partisan affiliation. Besides, Americans are not as easily divided as Trump might think. Millions of Republican voters live in New York, just as millions of Democrats live in Texas. He cannot tell whom he is punishing by glancing at an electoral map. But even if he could, Trump’s acts of extortion have no place in a democracy. They belong in a protection racket: If you support Trump, you are protected; if you do not, you are vulnerable. If you donate enough cash to Trump, you may receive favorable treatment, including immunity from the law. If you oppose Trump, you may be prosecuted.

This is not how a representative government works. It is how the Mafia works.

This is not how a representative government works. It is how the Mafia works.

Went back to the history of the Sicilian Mafia to illustrate something obvious but worth stating explicitly: The Trump administration behaves like an organized crime syndicate running a protection racket, not a representative government www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2025/1...

The President of the United States cannot stay awake for more than an hour. He’s in and out of the hospital more than a patient with cancer. He has no idea who is being pardoned or given Carte Blanche over the use of US taxpayer dollars. We are being led by unelected people. I am angry.

The meal the felon is bragging about being 25% less at Walmart this year is missing almost 50% of what was offered last year. So, for a 25% lower cost you get 50% less in product. Sounds like an amazing deal, doesn't it?

PRESS RELEASE
AFGE RANK AND FILE ISSUE OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT KELLEY
Union federal workers say "We need to hold the line!"
Washington, DC, November 6, 2025
AFGE Reformers, a group of rank and file members working for increased democracy within the American Federation of Government Employees, have issued an open letter to AFGE President Everett Kelley disagreeing with his recent call for an immediate end to the federal government shutdown via a β€œclean” continuing resolution.
Although federal workers have faced unprecedented attacks this year, reopening the federal government with a budget that harms working people is not worth the cost, the members who have signed on say. Signatories urge AFGE leaders to stand with allies in Congress who are trying to secure a better budget: one that ensures affordable healthcare, protects public services, and constrains unprecedented executive power over federal spending.
Mae apGoyannon (he/they), AFGE Local 2157 states, β€œI was shocked when I read President Kelley’s statement. Myself and most of the other federal workers I know think that helping keep healthcare and other costs affordable for the majority of Americans is more important than getting paid sooner. We took an oath to defend the Constitution and serve the people, and we are helping each other hold on without pay as long as we can so that we can continue to fulfill that oath.”
β€‹β€œWe must rally around our colleagues and fellow Feds not receiving a paycheck to ensure they are taken care of. Bring them meals, pay a bill, collect cash donations from mutual friends. Come together and make sure they are ok because as a long time union member, I cannot support a policy position that puts our timely paycheck above the basic rights of all Americans to affordable healthcare,” says Julia Simon (she/her), AFGE Local 1969. β€œAn injury to one is an injury to all. The American Federation of Gov Employees issued a press release (11/6/25) opposing AFGE Pres. Kelley's call for a "clean" end to the shutdown.
The union MUST "hold the line" for a budget that secures affordable healthcare & collective bargaining rights before restoring paychecks.
Do not surrender.

I don’t know how we’ve gotten to the point where men in full balaclavas can abduct daycare teachers while they’re watching children.

But I do know that this isn’t sustainable. Abolish ICE. There is no way to reform this.
