You let perfection be the enemy of good. Also there was a very good chance that her "support" of Israel would be performative rhetoric during the campaign and she would attach conditions to further weapons sales (something she flirted with on the campaign anyway).

Forgive my ignorance but I remember being taught in Economics classes a decade or two ago that the adoption of the euro and it being stronger than their previous currency (Spain, Italy, Greece, etc) is what caused the initial depression and not the resulting austerity. Curious for your thoughts.

Enforcing the rule of law is the only non-violent way out of this crisis. Thankfully some conservatives realize this. Far too few but this is encouraging.
