this post started my venture into the politics of folate fortification,

it seems like common sense that requiring folic acid fortification is boosting a handful of industries at once and makes more GDP than simply advertising vegetables' nature

america was rly like hey we can't force u to eat vegetables where folate is naturally abundant so we will add a synthetic kind (whose profits r they anyway 👩🏽‍🔬) to pasta and bread products under the guise of preventing natal issues which stem from malnutrition ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/F...

that taking vitamins make a difference is like how u can get folate from vegetables and don't need the synthetic additive if you can handle your own nutrition which is allegedly encoded in our dna but certainly obscured by centuries of misinformation
