MYTH: People with epilepsy cannot drive.
FACT: Those with controlled epilepsy are perfectly okay to drive! Driving restrictions are usually temporary, only requiring the operator has gone a certain amount of time without seizure activity.
AI can be a revolutionary tool in medicine. Here's an example related to #epilepsy treatment!

Happy Tuesday! A bit of a social media break was needed, but we're back! Do any of you take social media breaks when things get a little too stressful?

Great question! Let's hear it ๐
18.02.2025 02:05 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 3 ๐ 0Happy Valentine's Day to all! Today isn't the only day to express love and gratitude. It's our hope that each day is filled with love and gratitude toward our family, friends, care team, and anyone else who understands WHY we fight to hold it constantly when it's so easy to give up ๐
14.02.2025 16:04 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0That is a great thought! Though most are able to put emergency info on their phone's lock screen, the watch would be a quick one-stop shop for responders and allow them to go back to their duties sooner ๐
11.02.2025 22:59 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Love it! I have a "sport" and "everyday" style. Though I made sure the "everyday" was also waterproof and durable, because I get highly infuriated at taking bracelets on and off! So the only difference really is the sport band doesn't slip ๐
11.02.2025 22:55 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Medical alert jewelry used to be very standard with few choices. Now, there are a huge variety of styles and colors! Who here wears medical alert jewelry? ๐โโ๏ธ

Have you ever heard of "emotional blunting"? Us either! It's not a direct relationship with #epilepsy, we just found it to be interesting in our journey to understand each other better! ๐๐

For many people with epilepsy, a "clock reset" is slang term for a seizure, because the seizure resets the duration of time one has accumulated since the last seizure. -- When was your clock last reset? #EpilepsyAwareness

01.02.2025 20:20 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Absolutely stay informed. I was told I'm overreacting at Trump throwing the word "epilepsy"out there. His power has always come from fear & hatred. He's silenced trans people, everyone brown is an ICE target, reversed EEO which was heavily influenced by race discrimination. now who is there to hate?

01.02.2025 18:28 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0It's hard to admit, but disability benefits/rights have potential to be interfered with in the near future. Let's try our best to keep vigilant on the nuances & plan as best as we can to maintain quality of life ๐ plan for the worst, be delighted when it's not!

While we want to be positive, we have to consider this misinformation is going to hurt the way people perceive epilepsy, especially in the workplace, and it's okay to have strong emotions about the unknown.
31.01.2025 18:15 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Turning tragedy into disability blaming is NOT how we want to promote #epilepsyawareness, but it's more important now than ever to speak up and tackle misinformation while it's a hot topic!

Goodness no! I'm going to make a broad claim that most epileptics, while we may not like it, understand that we can work for any company, but not every position.
31.01.2025 18:03 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0There are very special exceptions that have been made for an ATC with epilepsy! Not common by any means. so ATC, no. but FAA in general? there's many different positions such as engineers and safety inspectiors, or even clerical, all of which a person with controlled epilepsy are capable of doing ๐
