I went from a '92 BMW 318is to a '91 Peugeot 309 Diesel.

Saw the car. Wheel arches and sills not too bad. Surface's rust on door edges, bootlid with missing spoiler and holes exposed. Windscreen top with surface rust and Paintwork faded. interior with a bit of condensation, but should clean up well.
But, although the engine turned, it would not start.

Thanks. Yes, very likely that it has grown as well as the rust, so that's on my mind. Matt advised me to look particularly at the sills and wheel arches.

I also heard the D series can have ignition issues and parts for it are NLA

Wow, that's very well specced. For the record, i know nothing about caravans, but my father in law has one from 2017 that has that spec too and looks just as nice inside as yours

Going to look at at car later today. It's 1993 Rover R8 416 and although i'm a bit reluctant on taking on another project, the R8 is a car I have been wanting for a few years now and this one is close to home. Needs work, but it runs and drives.
