My cat screams if me and my partner are in different rooms. She is the greatest cat of all time and I will fight anyone who doesn't immediately appreciate that.

Every now and then some GC will post that they went to a party and it turned out everyone secretly shares their views on trans+ folks. They never seem to understand that a party is a self-selecting group of people who can stand to be around them. It shows that their friends are cowardly bigots.

They're just demonstrating that they haven't read it and didn't expect anyone else to.

I do worry a little though because trans people shouldn't have to appear sympathetic to deserve dignity and justice.

It shouldn't be allowed, it's inherently abusive and intimidating. I do feel that it's backfired with Beth Upton and Sandie Peggie though, since Beth is a deeply sympathetic character and Sandie looks like a nasty bully.

We shall see though, I realise I'm biased.

...the NHS were fantastic but the only reason I was able to get the healthcare I needed was because I now work in the public sector where I have occupational sick leave. My fully funded operation would have cost me 2-4 weeks pay in previous jobs and I would have felt pressure to return early.

Re: the Palmer gig, I've been trying to avoid essentialising language, in my mind Gaiman did some feminism that night, which is not the same as being a feminist.

The danger is that notionally a "good feminist" would never do an awful thing, so it can't be true.
