Evidently Christie Noem suggests that Portland create “Free Speech Zones”. What that means I am not sure, but it certainly sounds like limiting free speech into places where nobody cares or places they can supervise more carefully. Trump ran on free speech but now wants to limit it.

Trump is threatening to withhold back pay for federal workers furloughed during the shutdown — which goes against a law he signed in 2019, by the way.

This should come as no surprise: Trump and his businesses have been accused of stiffing hundreds of their own workers out of pay over the years.
