We already have that in law. See, e.g., posse comitatus. I get the sentiment of putting an exclamation point on things people missed in civics class, but maybe the media could try some basic, old fashioned public education on on a vital issue, too?

This is what led to the birth of unions & regulations in the transition from the excesses of the Gilded Age to the moral & egalitarian reforms of the Progressive Era. Where is the voice for the little guy, being duped by mirages & conspiracy crack-pottery? Where is our modern day Mother Jones?

If “money equals speech,” money dominates governmental agendas. Over time, they stop governing, laws & regulations are reviled by the very people they should serve, leading to de-regulation & wealth dominance. The poor become invisible, until they refuse to be ignored. Rinse, lather, repeat.
