I am watching cross-country skiing on TV. If I were the kind of person who could eat while participating in cross-country skiing, I probably wouldn't choose mutter paneer.

Got a rejection yesterday. Sent out two more submissions yesterday, including the story that had just been rejected. Today, I wrote a new creative nonfiction piece and submitted that as well! Now, mutter paneer and cross-country skiing.

Me watching curling: As far as I can tell, this game is about tied (?)

Announcer: It's been Chinese dominance on the ice!

Hopefully some people pledged a substantial amount per sack. OK I havent seen a football game in a long time but that seemed like a lot of sacks.

Until recently, only regicides suffered the cruel fate of death by field goal.

The fun part is over. Go Seahawks.

There was a commercial saying we're not allowed to describe the game??? I haven't watchwed football since the last time the Seahawks were in the Superbowl but surely we're allowed to describe the game and especially the halftime show? This isn't the SATs?

Truly, Dick Powell's hair was the most luminous star of the pre-code era.

Warren William would be good for this too.

I forst saw it around 10 years ago (?) and I have never stopped thinking about it for a single moment.

Basically no one in the cast of Gold Diggers of 1933 would be a bad choice

I wanted to give Myrna a chance to shine on her own.

I love comics as a genre and this might be the best one I've ever seen

I love your choices too!

My 1930s Muppet Show host picks off the top of my head: Joan Blondell, Patsy Kelly, Harpo Marx, Myrna Loy

I still haven't typed it up.

I have another story that I wrote out by hand, then never typed up before moving to Maryland. Then I lost the manuscript, then I found the manuscript, but then I still never typed it up. It's historical fiction but also a mystery. Which, a huge percentage of mysteries are historical. More than half?

I just completed my first-ever revise and resubmit! I am pleased because the feedback I got was very apt and full of good observations. Also because this story is a bit of an oddball I came up with in response to a prompt, with the result that it will have a hard time fitting many publications.

(Another student recently told me that "English grammar is vibes-based." I told her she is 100% correct and actually all grammar is vibes-based. I speak teen.)

There are also videos on youtube of "blue noise" and "green noise," which are exactly what my student described. But this is a whole other nomenclature and surely vibes-based.

I went home and looked it up, and there is some scientific background to white vs. pink vs. brown noise. As a neurodivergent mess of a person, I can attest that brown noise is MAGICAL.

"Blue noise is the waves in the ocean or a flowing river," she said. "Green noise is the sound of trees in the wind. Or a rainforest." I didn't know if she was making stuff up or not, but I liked what she was saying.

I was talking to one of my students a while ago (with the storm I haven't actually seen a student in a while) about white noise vs. brown noise vs. pink noise and how I didn't know the difference. I wondered why there was no green noise or blue noise.

In the middle of thinking up an idea for a VERY depressing story, suddenly my knuckles are strangely grazing against a feeling similar to joy.

Also I kicked coffee and I'm lightly homicidal.
