A view from a cruising altitude, high above a vast cloudscape during the transition of dawn or dusk. The scene unfolds with a layered, dreamlike quality, capturing the immense stillness of the sky from above. At the top, a deep indigo horizon gently transitions into a band of soft lavender, giving way to a muted rose and dusty pink expanse below, creating a smooth gradient of warm and cool tones.

Beneath these colors, the clouds spread across the frame in intricate, swirling formations. The cloud layer is textured, with soft, organic shapes reminiscent of abstract islands or branching rivers seen from afar. Shadows within the clouds add depth and contrast, creating a sense of quiet vastness and tranquility.

The colors and textures blend in a way that feels both ethereal and grounded, capturing the unique perspective of seeing Earth's atmosphere from high above.

This serene yet powerful photograph showcases Frustration Falls in Oregonโ€™s Mt. Hood National Forest, where a series of cascading waterfalls flow gracefully through a steep, densely forested gorge. The falls split into multiple streams, each carving its own path over the dark, jagged rocks. The water appears bright white as it rushes and tumbles, creating frothy edges that stand out vividly against the deep teal pools collecting below. The texture of the water ranges from smooth and glassy where it briefly pauses, to lively and frothy as it surges over rocky ledges.

Surrounding the waterfalls, a lush canopy of fir trees frames the scene, their evergreen needles softening the rugged landscape and casting a gentle, dappled light. Moss blankets the cliff faces, its velvety green adding warmth and richness to the earthy tones of the rock. The cliffs themselves are steep and textured, with layers of sediment creating a visual record of geological time. On the left, dense foliage spills down the rocks, adding a vibrant layer of life to the ancient, weathered stone.

The mix of texturesโ€”from the swirling, lively water to the rough, timeworn rocks and the soft greeneryโ€”invites a sense of calm immersion in natureโ€™s contrasts. The falls seem to pulse with energy, yet the lush forest and moss-covered cliffs cradle them in a tranquil embrace, embodying the raw beauty of the Pacific Northwestโ€™s landscapes. This scene feels both timeless and grounded, a sanctuary of wilderness where water, rock, and forest converge.

Colorful fall trees on top of a rocky outcrop over a mountain lake. In the distance, trees are already bare.

The last colorful leaves of the season are falling off fast. Snapped this with a point-and-shoot the other day.

I was wondering, @lizdye.bsky.social and @andrewtorrez.bsky.social do you think you may comment on your show about the trial of Karen Read? I have been watching on YouTube, and I wonder what you two thought about the situation. If not, you still have a cool show. :)

I think either of those will be fine for large prints. I have printed 24x36 back when I had a 6.1mp nikon D40 and they turned out great. I'm sure you will make great photos no matter which you choose.
