3 episodes in Fionna & Cake, I'm really fascinated by where this is going as it's less unclear than last season's & in some ways it is more depressing so far

Just some good classic adventure time balance of casual humor with sad reflection and a bit of existential dread

Cass is entering a darker side as she's continued to be tugged between sides, showing the Grey nature of war, especially one filled with personal grudges. The action continues to be great & I can't wait to see more

Also, gay people confirmed 🏳️‍🌈

Ultimate X-Men #21

Brilliant issue! Giving us more action & interactions between the main cast while also showing the tremendous strength of Hisako & the pathetic roots of Kageyama. I'll forever adore these X-Men. Their banter during the fight is great & Kanon finally gets a W!

I like Absolute Batman but seeing Batman go apeshit on white nationalists would be more satisfying if the book explored Bruce's relationship with poverty in any real way. The left-wing politics in the book have felt like gestures rather than anything solid. The body horror aspect feels more realised

Forgot I had Absolute Flash #8 in my shelf 😭

A great flashback issue! Thawne & Barry's partnership (& maybe more?) was captivating to read, with so much of the lore dumps about this speed force & the discovery of it being very captivating, especially for a newbie like me

Finally read Absolute Wonder Woman #13
This run is banger after banger. I think one thing overlooked about Absolute Diana, especially critics, is her internal quest of understanding the world around her & herself. This issue definitively highlights that & it's fascinating to read

Gaaaah! I wanna see more after the maker! There's intriguing little interactions in this book like this one that you could maybe expand later!

Geez, I hate this is gonna end

After the last issue's explosive ending, this is more of a neat interlude. Otto continues being one of my favs, Harry's going down a darker path & the Parker family have thier one chance protect themselves & allies

This was a sweet story to end with, & I like how personal it is while being a pretty effective development for Ava Ayala

It highlights how great of a character she is & why the White Tiger is still remembered.

Absolute Evil #1

...holy shit.
Lots of Watchmen energy with the storytelling in this issue, & I love how kinda icky it felt reading it with my own hands. The personalities in this team bounce off each really well & the world of Absolute DC now feels more whole & connected

Batgirl #12

A shaky alliance is formed as we see how the next stage of the Shadow War turns out. Great start to a new arc with a clear look of the mental toll this is having on Cassandra

Lots of cool references & Nyssa was absolutely awesome, she kinda stole the show this issue

Ultimate X-Men #20

God I love this series. The world has changed & lines are being drawn. Our X-Men have built a strong community on the outskirts of a society that's making them 2nd class citizens & weaponizing them

Kanon, Surge & Viper were a delight to see given focus

One Battle After Another is a very 70s film.
Musically frantic, tense & beautiful.
Politically well-researched & angry, showing the very human struggle & resilience of people underneath a fascist boot.
We're born in a corrupt society. The fight is already outside your window. What will you do?
