I’ve had two conferences—one in the US and one international—change titles of panels or the entire gathering to avoid being targeted or make people’s lives more difficult.

It’s the exact kind of thing the US used to label totalitarian when foreign countries did this to their scholars.

The laws of war are not mere niceties. They are lessons from centuries of blood agreed upon to keep the world more stable.

Violating them isn’t hero cop who cuts through red tape to get things done, it’s psycho cop who crosses lines in ways even the rule benders find appalling and must be stopped.

The ability to convince capital markets to hand you a trillion dollars on the strength of obvious bullshit paired with the inability to get a single human to sincerely and spontaneously say they love you is some real punishment of the gods shit.

A guy who later retired as a well respected Colonel was my baby Captain at a demanding overseas command assignment. I was an E6 and helped him see some of the "dynamics" he needed to see. He's like a brother all these years later and we're both grandparents now.

This is someone who has absolutely no care for suffering. He thinks he's punishing colleagues not children and elders who need the help no matter who is in control. He will cut everything and feel nothing.

People think everyone has always been hyper aware of negative symbolism. I guarantee you some people just put pictures on their body and it's not deep. Military people get tattoos. Spiderwebs and stars on elbows were popular and then it was a gang tat. The punisher skull has history.
