I meant that generally - as in real competition on issues *generally* produces better candidates. California is to Democrats what Texas or Florida are to Republicans. The worst get elected because they run the machine and can control the money.

Newsome is as slimy as politicians come. I’ll take the Dems from a state where they have to work in the general election and not just the primary any day of the week (please don’t mention Fetterman).

He may have been in some bad movies, but was never bad in a movie. Absolutely brilliant. Drugs are horrible and took him far too soon.

Kentucky have a great governor and two of the absolute worst senators always amazes me. As a Texan, I can only gaze on jealously (and keep working to get there some day).
