companies were hopping on the diversity bandwagon not because they gave a shit but because it was seemingly profitable

in the current political landscape tho it's...polarizing at best, so it ended up being one of the first things to get defunded

remember, massive corporations are not your friends

People are rushing to blame the cybertruck for malfunctioning and exploding when it could just as easily have been that the driver was participating in clinical trials for neuralink

The greatest mystery in the entire world is how a desktop computer knows that it has been physically moved. If you just unplug cables at the same desk and then you plug them back in the computer is fine. But if you physically move, it knows it can cause problems on purpose to spite you.

this paragraph caught my eye. apparently if you've publicly complained about your insurance they might have you on a person of interest list

this only suggests to me that everyone needs to keep being meaner to those in power. the wealthy elite need to be scared

i'm not even slightly exaggerating we need to bring back these kind of posters and aesthetics.

men want to have meaning as strong providers and protectors? okay then give them a healthy image of what that looks like. show them strength based in empathy rather than cruelty. give them aspirations.

Considering roles closer to software advocate over software engineering for future work

I like technical work but I also love presentations and community management and socializing, and it sounds like a job that combines both

I regularly feel quite stupid and get immense imposter syndrome when it comes to my work, but every now and then I will give information about something or solve a difficult issue or create a great solution, and for a split second, feel like an actual expert at my field

tbh it's basically the same advice we've told new programmers about copying and pasting code you're not familiar with from stackoverflow

My conclusion on code ai tools like chatgpt or w/e is that they're fine if you're already experienced with what you're doing and are using it to fill boilerplate, or if you're asking it questions to learn general information, but using it to build code you're not familiar with leads to a bad time
