Basically, I want a cheap-ass project computer that I can fuck about with without risking losing any data and/or otherwise unavailable capability.

I am, damned close, to either A) Buying the first second-hand chromebook that's theoretically able to boot linux i can find, or B) designing a cyberdeck around an SOC

First impressions are very good. New UI is even better in use than in screenshots. Haven’t used the rendering changes because the project has basically no graphics yet

Upgraded my background project to godot 4.6 early because I reallly like the new editor ui, as well as the rendering updates.

Good stuff, had some regular upgrade problems, just needed to manually reimport a bunch of animations and open and re-save some scripts. And then everything w[...]

Just found Main Menu which is makes my regular hacking with desktop files even easier.

First day no project

I've set my application menu to super+space now though, which means i'm typing d in a lot of random places for a while until i get used to it

switched out my menu for nwggrid. And also added a lock/logout/reboot/shutdown prompt with nwgbar immediately

I now have a notebook specifically for my White Whale project. Still going back and forth on whether or not I should take another shot at making it for the next school project

This project was miserable and I won’t say it was _all_ worth it. But damn does it feel good to get rewarded for sticking through all the misery

I do have to say that this scene looks _really_ impressive in VR.

The same scene from ankle-height looking up, showing that the ceiling of the room is invisible due to a dark fog that gathers above roughly 3m and hides everything above 5m. This angle also shows the bookshelf that stretches into said fog, and the window, which implies a slanted roof above in the shapes of light that shine through the fog.

Finally decided to try replacing KDE discover with Bazaar on my system, since I prefer using flatpaks where possible anyway. And it's really nice!

My system isn't KDE, so I think discover was having some issues that it shouldn't have, but bazaar works completely without issues and is[...]
