NO DRIVER? I’m in Phoenix… so we know what that means … no drivers, at least for me 😜

Why do I use them? While I can be very social, often times I’m quite introverted. Human interaction drains me. So freaky or not, the lack of chit chat won me over. So this is me on every Phoenix trip. #travel

I’m in Phoenix this week at one of my happy places - Milkweed Arts AZ. I love the shop and Warren Norgaard does an amazing job bringing in the best instructors.

This week I’m taking a class from Lisa Becker. Class is great, fast paced, learning lots and Lisa is a ton of fun. #art #glassart

PACKING: Finally made it to my hotel and I have to say that I love, love, love this backpack. FINALLY a super roomy smallish backpack. Made well. Waterproof. Sits upright. I can easily pack for 2+ weeks in this! It’s the Cascade Backpack (Standard) by Portland Gear. ❤️ it!!!

Traded glass for paints today. I painted mountains…we had Sasquatch stuff to do for our local trunk or treat. Mountain theme. Jim was Sasquatch. I took Polaroid pics of the kids w/him to give.

Fun was had by all, except maybe the dino who tried to pick a fight w/Sasquatch.

A close friend got married a couple yrs ago. As a wedding gift, I made them this sushi set. His hubby is a chef & they both LOVE sushi.

Yesterday was their anniversary. They made sushi using my dishes. He said they use them all the time! ❤️❤️❤️

SPOOKY COFFEE: Here’s the dealio … when I head down off of my mountain, I get Starbucks on the way down the hill and then Dutch Bros on the way back up.

It is wonderful! Being fully immersed in so much learning and creativity while in an incredibly inspiring setting is an amazing experience. I’ve studied there 3 times and hope to make it back again someday.

And yes … they make glass from scratch .. not just add colors to clear. The process is amazing.

I saw each explain the process while I was on study at Pilchuck.

In the US, prices for all supplies I use are skyrocketing… not just glass.

Creating pink glass by anyone adds gold. I know a couple of artists who make their glass totally from scratch who o do this.

The different minerals give it its characteristics.

Info for my non-glassy peeps ... glass and supplies are skyrocketing ... damned tariffs.

Depending on what you're buying, prices are tripling, and in the case of this dark pink sheet ... it has gone up 6x the original price.

Not just glass has gone up, but also steel and everything else I use.

GLASSY - Ouchie: I really need to work on my dexterity when wearing gloves because working with chicken wire is way too pokey to not wear them. And yes … I do complain every time … lol

MOOSE: This is super interesting. The moose I saw this week had white legs - not typical. I found that this is a rare genetic condition.

Moose with white legs are usually either piebald moose or leucistic moose, both rare genetic variations resulting in irregular white fur. #wildlife #moose
