AuDHD hermit living in Aotearoa NZ ๐ณ๐ฟ I hyperfixate on politics far too much for my general wellbeing. Other than that, movies/games/books/my cats are my reason for living.

06.11.2025 01:17 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Don't get me wrong, other parties should have clear plans and those plans should be critiqued. I want strong policy from the parties I support. I really hope more scrutiny is placed on the coalition parties this upcoming election.
05.11.2025 22:28 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Because I recall their alternative to three waters being "we'll see after the election"
Their environmental ideas have been "oh someone might invent something to help" I personally don't feel comfortable leaving the climate change up to chance.
Does this government realise how little legitimacy it has to critise other parties for not having a plan? Because the only plan they appear to have is to repeal everything.
What were their plans and solutions before the election? #nzpol
They're banking on imaginary solutions

I've had parents call me exasperated that their child's education has turned into an eternal marae visit with karakia before every class and Mรฃori words littered through their maths questions. It is possible to respect and value the place of the Mรฃori language and culture without artificially inserting it into every part of life. We're fixing it. As announced this morning, the Education and Training Act will be changed so that School Boards will no longer be required to "give effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, including by working to ensure that its plans, policies, and local curriculum reflect local tikanga Mรฃori, matauranga Mรฃori, and te ao Mรฃori" The changes will be introduced to Parliament this afternoon and passed before the end of the year. It is part of ACT's Coalition Agreement to make Educational Achievement the primary objective of school boards. Our future needs every taxpayer dollar spent on education to realise its full value. Focusing education on actual achievement is a critical part of that. Thank you to everyone who's supported ACT in this work.
And just in from Seymour.
This is the intent. Forget whatever flowery words Erica uses. They want your child growing up in a NZ that is blind to its history. Thatโs not learning, itโs indoctrination.

Iโm pleased to see him being reasonably forceful about this and Iโm pleased to see his words leading the article.
Does Erica Stanford have connections to school resource books, because she sure does think they'll solve everything.
It is patronizing to act as if school books in reo absolves their actions against maori language, culture, history, ect, in our curriculum

This all aligns with Stanford's new curriculum that has her racist paws all over it, ditch the requirement to teach NZ history & Maori culture with the pyramids... #nzpol
