⚠️BREAKING ⚠️ 25+ arrests have been made violently by police, who are facilitating the business of war and genocide in Te Pae right now. We, the people, say NO to the aerospace military industrial complex. We, the people, say NO MORE WAR IN OUR NAME. #nzpol #nz #peaceactivism

Main thing he's missing is the wealth and power to make his fantasies a reality.
At time of writing.

That's so frustrating! This is barely smaller than my current (rented) flat, which we've been in long enough that β€” with a more reasonable deposit β€” we could've had something like this very nearly paid off.

Actually, I think the far-right is accurately identifying an existential issue.

So many of the most vehement far-right were either heavily bullied or did the bullying.

Teaching empathy to the next generation is fundamentally at odds with conservative political philosophy.

That's why they hate it.

Painting of Tory whanau

Tonight me and my whānau got to see the official mayoral portrait done by Pōneke artist, Clark Roworth. This felt like a lovely end to this chapter with my mana intact and we will leave behind a progressive long term plan for the next council. I’m proud of of us πŸ’š

I remember when a protester punched the co-leader of the Greens in the face.

Hana Maipi-Clarke had her home broken into by a political stalker.

I recall VFF protesting outside Clarke's parents' home while Jacinda was on holiday.

I dont remember hearing about National's concerns back then??

So when we talk about β€œlack of diversity” in local elections, we’re (arguably) really seeing the offline consequences of online hostility.
Safer digital spaces are about the health of our democracy just as much as they are about eliminating the social attitudes that drive abuse (eg misogyny)

Whether against Hana-Rawhiti Maipi-Clarke, Ghahraman, Ardern, other MPs, Wiles, Bloomfield, & others involved in pandemic response, transgender activists, drag queens, judges, lawyers or academics - effects of doxxing are inherently harmful, & often leads to kinetic violence or vandalism.

NZ must reject 'sham' Myanmar election, MPs say After meeting Myanmar's revolutionary groups and political prisoners, NZ politicians say we must offer more than 'nice words on paper'

After meeting Myanmar’s revolutionary groups and political prisoners, MPs say we must offer more than β€˜nice words on paper’ and has urged the Govt to condemn upcoming β€œsham elections” being held by Myanmar’s military regime, saying NZ must not legitimise its efforts to claim an electoral mandate

It was political violence when Peters almost singlehandedly created so many persistent death threats it forced a takatāpui MP out of office. It’s political violence that rangatahi in Waitaha are now nearly a year without access to essential and time-critical healthcare bc of the actions of this govt

Perhaps many millions of asthmatics (πŸ™‹πŸΎβ€β™€οΈ) wouldn't need our inhalers if governments and corporations had actually cared about the air, the water, and the planet we live on...

They can talk to the βœ‹πŸΎ or one of the geese who live in our pond. "So, HOW did they end up with asthma in the first place?"

β€˜A tsunami of hate’ Doyle reveals extent of abuse, threats and police charges and decision to leave politics EXCLUSIVE - Benjamin Doyle spoke with Te Ao Māori News Political Editor Māni Dunlop about their time as a Green MP, and why they decided to leave.

I still don't think most people realise the extent of it www.teaonews.co.nz/2025/09/21/a...

This was from way back in 2023, the same year David Seymour said someone should blow up the Ministry of Pacific Peoples

Media in those cases NEVER showed a united front to hold either man accountable.Yet they are in lockstep at the moment to spread Peters’ risible attack on the left

Why is that?

Really dangerous conflation here.
Political violence isn't okay, but not all violence and not all forms of protest are interchangeable.

I do think we should broadly condemn political violence against our elected officials, not least because its normalisation disproportionately harms those further from hegemonic norms. [1/2]

Remember when social media was weaponised against a nonbinary MP so effectively they had to leave to protect themselves & their child from ongoing online violence & threats? That's political violence, too.

Where were all the calls for change? Where were the posts of "That's not okay"?

Interesting

'Disgusting coward' - Winston Peters says window smashed at his home, police called Police confirmed they were called to the NZ First leader's home after a report of wilful damage.

I don't know, man; maybe if you're worried about stochastic terrorism, you could try not engaging in stochastic terrorism.

Luxon and his govt have consistently prioritised landlords, tobacco industry, and their wealthy mates over and above everyone else in their legislation and policy making. This is no different.

This is Luxon rewarding wealthy business owners with a supply of cheap labour.

When our despair is their goal, love and hope and kindness are how we must rebel. It's so easy to give in to apathy (or worse), but we have to keep going. Together.
