Using his telepathic abilities, the Professor tells his students "We must not overstay our welcome! Let us return to school!" and then he explains to Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Girl that the X-Men have generously offered to take him to a taxi.

I Guess the Party’s Ending Now: Professor X commands the X-Men to leave the engagement party, so as not to overstay their welcome. To hide their connection, the Professor says the X-Men will help him to a taxi. (pg 9)

State University students shout to the Fantastic Four telling them that Dragon Man was heading for Dead Man's Lake.

Dragon Man, along with Professor Gilbert and Diablo, on the edge of Dead Man's Lake.

The Thing, fallen into the waters of Dead Man's Lake, notices the large underwater caves drawing the currents in all different directions.

Reed Richards says, "Professor Xavier is reputed to be one of our most brilliant scientists -- and yet I never see any published accounts of his findings!" Dean Menckin says, "I've heard he specializes in training gifted youngsters!"

Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch leave the Thing and the Human Torch, with Quicksilver remarking "Evil though he is, we are only safe with Magneto!"

Only Safe with Magneto: Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch decide to return to the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, but their doubts would continue to grow and they would leave the Brotherhood in their next appearance. (pg 12)

Scarlet Witch uses her hex power to summon a "sudden gale force storm" outside the Baxter Building.

The sudden storm pours rainwater into the Baxter Building's open windows, dousing the Human Torch's flames.

Sudden Gale Force Storm: Scarlet Witch’s mutant ability is so powerful that it can summon a raging storm to flood the Baxter Building’s open windows. (pg 12)

Quicksilver, dismayed that the Thing and the Human Torch immediately started fighting them, admits that he believes "Magneto was right".

The updraft forces the Human Torch up where he hits his head on the ceiling.

Hitting his head on the ceiling, Johnny Storm loses his concentration and reverts back to his regular human form.

Now I Shall Prove It: Quicksilver subdues the Human Torch by running in circles around him, creating an updraft which forces him to smash into the ceiling, temporarily dousing his flames. (pg 9-10)

The Thing commands Quicksilver to "hold still, for Pete's sake!"

For Pete’s Sake: the Thing utters a minced oath, “for Pete’s sake”, which originally stood as a euphemism for “for Christ’s sake”, invoking the name of St. Peter instead. (pg 8)

Scarlet Witch uses her hex power to cause the Thing to miss Quicksilver, knocking over one of Mr. Fantastic's inventions, nearly crushing Wanda beneath it.

They Dared to Strike You: a series of miscommunication causes the duos to mistake each other for threats. (pg 7)

The Scarlet Witch uses her hex power to tie the two security guards with a firehose, who then deduce her identity.

Only One Female Has a Hex Power: thanks to their appearance on the news, the security guards recognize Scarlet Witch and her hex powers. (pg 5)
