Iโm horrified by the murder of two Israeli embassy staffers at an event in DC last night.
The fact that the gunman said he did it to โfree Palestineโ makes me nauseous. Murdering people for their nationality is never acceptable and this violence hurts Jews, Israelis, *and* Palestinians.
Thank you, dear friend!

Join us weโre actively working to get coalition members on the ground! Milwaukee County Judge Hannah Dugan was arrested by the FBI this morning after refusing to allow ICE agents into her courtroom. She was taken to the federal courthouse.
In the wake of what Judge Dugan did (100% legal), now is a good time for everyone to know what she knows:
An immigration or administrative warrant is *not* a judicial warrant. You are not obliged to obey it. Indeed, you can let the person out the back door. docs.google.com/presentation...
This is a really important response to the arrest of Judge Hannah Dugan by Kash Patel's lawless FBI. Good on Representative Clancy.

Days before masked Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents detained Tufts University student Rumeysa Ozturk to deport her, the State Department determined that the Trump administration had not produced any evidence showing that she engaged in antisemitic activities or made public statements supporting a terrorist organization, as the government has alleged.โฉThe finding, contained in a March memo that was described to The Washington Post, said Secretary of State Marco Rubio did not have sufficient grounds for revoking Ozturkโs visa under an authority empowering the top U.S. diplomat to safeguard the foreign policy interests of the United States.
Big scoop from John Hudson at the Washington Post on Rumeysa Ozturk and the State Department.

This Instability May Be Worth It. Hereโs Why. Oren Cass makes the case for tariffs. Hosted by Ross Douthat
In any authoritarian regime, there are people who make a livelihood by rationalizing the actions of the leadership, making them palatable to a general audience by offering analogies with reasonable theoretical statements. Their profesisonal title is usually something like "chief propagandist"
10.04.2025 14:42 โ ๐ 3782 ๐ 743 ๐ฌ 197 ๐ 100Media challenge: try writing headlines without using the word "antisemitism". Stop using Trump's framing for his authoritarian actions.
"Trump administration now monitoring immigrant social media" would be shorter and more accurate, since no-one really believes this is about anti-semitism.
