SWFs are typically used by countries awash with cash like Norway and they are usually used to fund economic diversification. The US is far from awash with cash and it cannot afford a sovereign wealth fund so a late-stage-syphilis-suffering President can go shopping for whatever he wants. 🤦‍♂️

So now Trump is trying to setup his own private taxpayer fed slush fund that would have no congressional oversight (sovereign wealth fund). With it he’d be free to buy anything he wants (Greenland, TikTok, etc) using tax dollars and nobody would be able to do anything about it.
