Cracking morning for a stroll through Burdiehouse Burn Valley Park from Straiton Road to Gilmerton Road. Lovely park although I did notice a lot of litter at times. Highlight was a good view of a Kingfisher.

A lovely stretch of the Water of Leith upstream of Spylaw Park was the focus this morning with @wolct.bsky.social I enjoyed litter picking along the water edge and amongst the woods.

Beautiful autumn morning for a wade with @wolct.bsky.social on a stretch between Currie and Balerno. No Japanese Knotweed spotted but some litter picked.

Bright breezy afternoon for @edcriticalmass.bsky.social ride to Lochend. Loved the Halloween themed soundtrack, riding along North Bridge to Sweet Transvestite a particular highlight!

Went to a talk about Alfred yesterday with curator Louise Pearson & writer James Crawford. Alfred was certainly an interesting character, looking forward to seeing the exhibition.

Another Monday morning wade with @wolct.bsky.social working upstream from Bell's bridge. No Japanese Knotweed spotted but we did get some litter out. Strong flow of water following last night's rain & we saw two roe deer run across the river.

Damp morning for gorse cutting with Holyrood Park rangers clearing a rock face above Dunsapie Loch but still good fun.

Spent an enjoyable couple of hours litter picking on Calton Hill with @caltonhill.bsky.social That's 2 bags worth of litter no longer spoiling this beautiful site.

Was having a quiet moment with Anthony this morning when a kingfisher flashed by. Twenty metres upstream a young grey heron quietly sought something to eat. The Water of Leith providing a wee slice of nature in the city @wolct.bsky.social

Another Monday morning spent with @wolct.bsky.social wading in the Water of Leith upstream of Currie Kirk seeking out Japanese Knotweed. One plant spotted, some Balsam removed as well as 2 bags of litter.

Dreadnought pub is absolutely worth a visit

This picture doesn't really show how breezy it still is this morning. Saw a couple of trees had fallen onto the path but this section of the Chancelot path was very clear of leaves and branches. Still managing shorts & no gloves.

Beautiful photo and a great place for a drink. We also had a great sunset for our family get together the night before our son's wedding.
