cactuscloudsart Today I discovered a woman called "Angie the ICE Chaser" on TikTok and she literally just follows ICE vehicles in her car. They become increasingly erratic in their attempts to lose her (breaking sooo many laws on camera) and they never do. She is single handedly striking terror into ICE agents across LA. She also follows them through neighborhoods honking her horn and shouting "THEY ARE ICE!" out her window. There is a GFM for gas money and the legal fees she is fully expecting to come around.

What I see there is time wasted by an AI undermining the structure and thought an expert put into their content because the AI did grasp the purpose and context and possibly not the nuances of the domain either.

Reminds me of an incident a friend related to me this week where their colleague adjusted their copy for a presentation using AI and the results took the content a different direction than the writer intended. But the colleague seemed more annoyed with the writer than with the AI for mangling it.

I wrote:
You distinct lack of verbosity is underappreciated by your colleagues and the authorities

AI changed it to:
I noticed that you tend to be concise in your communication. While this can be effective, it might be helpful to explore more detailed explanations in certain situations.

Tho I did just try the "Make Friendly" CTA to see what would happen and the output got the meaning completely wrong, tho, to be fair, I was intentionally, hyperbolically verbose:

At least in TextEdit, you have to hunt for the AI features to use them. They're not nipping at your heels asking to be used. Yet.
