Yeah the scope is honestly the wildest thing about the shot- I don't know many folks that would take a 200 yard shot with that ratty thing

12.09.2025 03:00 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Another thought: angles mess with ballistics, or really our understanding of them. From an elevated position, compensation (DOPE) can get weird.
11.09.2025 17:09 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Also 300 yards isn't a bonkers sight-in these days for plenty of western hunters or distance shooters...
11.09.2025 05:22 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Why assume low? I'd assume missed high...could have been sighted in for 300 yards and took the closer shot without good range and dope

Most people who can shoot to 200 yards wouldn't default to a headshot, any hunter I know would go for vitals in general
Five is enough to either get the sale language stripped or kill the bill. I'll take it for now

This effort is a hugely broad coalition, includes critical Republican base voters, and is unwilling to negotiate or compromise. R's are breaking ranks, it can happen. This is a huge threat to his agenda right now because of how unified and diverse the pushback is. Take notes & capitalize on it.

Not just because it matters, but because this might stand the best chance of getting beaten. This admin has run roughshod over everything and has only gained momentum- but suddenly it's hit a quagmire than could cripple OBBB. If it doesn't, it'll prove a viable path and give hope keep fighting

Look folks, I work in conservation so I care about the public land sell-off. A lot. And I know plenty of leftist folks who seem alarmed that folks are paying more attention to that than, ya know, everything else horrific happening under this administration. BUT, this is the fight to the wage
All of that, plus Molly's gentle voice and narration style. Compared to more manic CZM podcasts, Molly can tell a story about scary weirdos while still imparting a sense of comfort and warmth in her tone. A top recommendation for sure
27.06.2025 01:43 โ ๐ 6 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0It's also got hunters and anglers across the country up in arms....a weird but hopefully beneficial unification of often disparate stakeholders....and it's likely going to be those folks that can apply pressure to the Republicans in the Senate who are in a position to do something about it
17.06.2025 14:10 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Respectfully- kootenai county sheriff's office can stay the fuck on their side of the border, and I expect Spokane police to do the same.
we don't want you over here policing our city, anymore than CDA folks want to see us over there. This wasn't appropriate, mutual aid agreement be damned
Unsurprising update on the SPD: theres now evidence of 40mm sponge being deployed as well as some bean bags being fired by the department, even though the chief was on the news last night swearing it was just inter gas and pepper balls. Nice trust foundation established with the public
13.06.2025 04:39 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Begs the question- was the chief gaslighting, being pendantic, or intentionally obtuse when he explicitly stated they only used pepper balls and inert gas?

Just confirming that this is the out-of-state law enforcement agency you brought in to standby by and backup policing your own residents yesterday?
Ah yes not tear gas, just a cloud of smokey gas and pepper balls that make tears, radically different intent obvsly
Also, I'd love the SPD to explain how intentionally releasing a smokescreen into a throng of people that obscures vision helps dissipate a crowd. Explain it to me like I'm five.
That's the thing though right- this was a smaller, tightly confined and pretty deeply covered protest. If you're going say something that can get fact checked easily and quickly in a small ecosystem like spokane, you better get it right unless you're just trying to gaslight people
12.06.2025 06:04 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Photo evidence in the spokesman review of at least one person struck with likely a pepper ball went online at almost the same moment that the chief was explaining how they never shoot directly at the protestors ๐ค
12.06.2025 05:33 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Spokane police chief "we didn't use tear gas, we used smoke canisters and then pepper balls"
So you released a gas then made tears....how could folks ever have gotten the impression you used tear gas.
Spokane mayor "I've been a protestor before" is really something to say when you initiate a crackdown instead of joining your residents protesting ICE in our hometown. If "we belong" in Spokane, you belong on the protest line. Both to keep the peace and show what you'll stand for
12.06.2025 05:25 โ ๐ 8 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I should update: the protest was peaceful, but also there was some light vandalism on ice vehicles....so still a totally reasonable response to initiate a downtown curfew and deploy cops from around the county to enforce
12.06.2025 04:58 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Welp, Spokane is officially popping off. A light protest of a couple hundred people, overwhelmingly peaceful was declared an unlawful assembly before police escalated. There's now a curfew in place for much of downtown- hell of a start to Pride and no kings this weekend

12.06.2025 03:54 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0He can't...but couldn't the LAPD be redirected to protect the city and it's residents from the violent, escalatory federal agents presently operating in the city?
