it's obviously going to vary a lot depending on location and funding sure but in my experience vast majority of gps have been awful and awful is being generous

I have a lot of interactions with both gps and hospital doctors and I can tell you the difference is stark

yeah we've got a system where you have to request to see a specialist via a middleman who hates you and the specialists

yep and they function as gatekeepers to access those same other health professionals who actually know what they're doing

it's cool how there's a dividing line in this country whether you can actually stay home when you're ill or not. I've only had a couple of jobs where in this situation you were just expected to stay home and weren't even made to feel guilty about it (even got sick pay!)
