To open the gateway to all my dead friends, like they'd been talking to me all along but I hadn't been on that frequency it's all very strange. That's just to say it's not strange at all.

And 4 of the weirdest days of the first few months of living in NYC and random gigs. Sinead Sly and Robbie and the Taxi gang... There have been so many full circle moments lately I'm not even surprised. My mom's spirit wifi hasn't been beaming mad data into my head the last few weeks but it seemed..

She died like 5 days later. That was her plan. The following weekend I was in Montreal with Chet Faker. The weekend after that Copenhagen with Bikini Kill. I think the following weekend was Boy George then time disappeared. I just worked for Dev Hynes, full circle, 20 years after Test Icicles...

But then in spring my mom went into decline my sister said you better start going down there -- my folks retired 2hrs from my childhood and 6-8 hours from me. So the universe cleared my schedule. After all other options to improve her quality of life were exhausted the doc said 6wks.

How has it been 22 days since I said I was going to start regularly-posting here? My friend Ryan also motherless now said time will get weirder and weirder. I could look at the calendar I suppose. I didn't work most of the year thinking I was black-balled for being anti-g3n0cyde...

Anyway I feel like I never post BTS pics things like I have an unspoken NDA and that's why I have a job but when you work for someone big enough it must be like who cares if you post something nice. George sat behind me in the car to the gig and sang whatever for 30 minutes like it was a sound bath

Get off my lawn moment: when I hear ppl come in my local and tell my friend bartending "oh I used to live here..." like whatever were you in the Fever or whatever (probably). I don't go back to dc and tell some random server eyyy I used to live her I know Fugazi. Like who?

Once I confirmed this Boy George gig I thought well there it is I won Gay Icon Bingo talking about my client list. But realized I kind of got BINGO, 5 artists, big deal to me as I gravitate to amplifying voices that need to be heard, know what I mean? I'm on the faders.

I've been sitting in a posh-ish hotel lobby for a couple hours. I have 2 hours to go. It's been 3 weeks since mom died. I'm working for Boy George mixing his live show. The SUV limo driver is also chilling not far behind me. After 2 days we're friends now.

I also used to bristle at being called Sir as I always associate it was authority figures: Sir's for dads and cops. Actually I just hated that it made me feel like I had to be older. Today I take it back. I'll take it with the faux respect intended. I am Sir.

I used to bristle at people saying I'm a "road dog" as if having perpetual athletes foot and being an otherwise unkempt music dirtbag was my description, but FWIW I'm slightly jealous of the stereotype road crew by the pool with the entire rider and stacks of cigs at 7am being pleasant

I just came up with an idea for something amazing that's both anti-DJ event and anti-soundbath in a way, I know @catbeats.life would be most likely to hold me accountable for making it more than a text post

But also maybe just get a cat or other animal familiar and stop searching for such folly in another person
