Monday morning

A dog sits near a tall shoe rack filled with various types of shoes in a room with wooden flooring. All shoes are stacked on high shelves, out of the dog’s reach.

“Guys, correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe I’m sensing a lack of trust here, and frankly, it hurts my feelings.”

Had a bunch of scrap lumber laying around, so I made this to hang out at the end of my driveway… if our country can’t rediscover the art of dialogue, critical thought and compromise, our continued descent into darkness will be inevitable.

A very tiny posy I made in a thimble using flowers I grew in my garden, including lily of the valley, forget me not, cow parsley, sorrel, Mexican fleabane/erigeron, snowberry and buttercup.

When humans look at something we find beautiful our brains release dopamine, lifting mood & if we connect with what we're looking at oxytocin, giving us a sense of belonging.

This 1841 watercolour is a painting by writer of 'Wuthering Heights' Emily Brontë. It depicts her pet merlin The bird of prey was rescued from the moors near her home and Brontë named the bird 'Nero'. The Brontë siblings all had good skills in art.
