God's word is not a textbook to be mastered, but a revelation from the God who masters our hearts. It is not a light to barely warm us, but a blazing fire to consume us. It is not a hammer we throw at others, but an ice pick that shatters the coldness we used to call holiness…

You can eat bitterness for breakfast and go to bed at night with anger, but not without enduring the corrosive effect of both on the soul. Enter the day in thanks, walk through it with love, and end it with forgiveness.

Grace to those who are weary and struggling to give thanks, or spending Thanksgiving alone, or lacking a picture-perfect meal to post on social media, or pained by the memory of a lost or estranged loved one. The peace and comfort of Christ be upon you.
