Seems like every few months there’s a new study showing giving homeless people a small amount of money (instead of stealing their stuff and putting them in jail) results in them finding jobs and homes. We keep spending money on these studies rather than doing what they indicate will work.

1) Mamdani isn't acceptable, here is an explanation for why I will justify voting against the democratic candidate.

2) Trans people need to sacrifice themselves! Vote Blue no matter who!

Not living in NYC I have never been very invested in their mayoral elections (outside of the fact that it is the most populous city in the country and the base of most of our financial system) but I now have a great desire to see this man elected.

A big part of the transphobia has always been this: just old misogyny, repackaged, and brought back to control gender expression for everyone.

It was never just about trans people, and always also about controlling gender norms for cis people, especially cis women, as well 😡

trans politics right now feels absurd because the governments want to fucking wipe us from existence and we have people who are like "hmm which transes are more oppressed than others? And who can I exclude from transness hmmmmmm"

This is one of many, many reasons why the church needs to get wholeheartedly on board with abolition, now. Our moral witness has to be clear that imprisonment degrades sacred human dignity, and cages and punishment have no part of the reign of God ⚓️

This is frustrating tbh. Omar Fateh has been vocally supportive of the LGBTQ community on all of his socials, on his website, & most importantly in his work as a state senator. He's cosponsored and/or voted yes consistently on pro-lgbtq bills.
