He was in NY on holiday by himself, because he and his wife would go there every year, though she passed some years ago but he still went to remember her.

He was English, and used to work on the sound booths for the BBC. In fact, he was the engineer when the Beatles came in for interviews and he met all of them.

(I now like to tell my son, a huge Beatles fan, that he is two degrees of separation from them due to this random encounter)
