Since I’m known as the “video game prof,” a few students approached me (unprompted) to ask if I had played Highguard. They told me it’s their new favorite thing, and that they started swapping over every night after Marvel Rivals.

This game is getting discovered on campus, yall.

The official FF7 account posted this for the 29th anniversary… Incredible concept art! Remake is giving us the closest thing to what the devs originally had conceived— and then some!

It’s fascinating to watch. If this continues, I anticipate we’ll see publishers make a pretty strong return to more traditional marketing strategies in the coming seasons.
