One Nation's James Ashby filmed seeking $20m from NRA to weaken Australia's gun laws Al-Jazeera journalist posing as gun campaigner films senior party figures in Washington DC soliciting financial support to help One Nation seize the balance of power

Before One Nation have a chance to get started, it might be useful to remind people that they sought $20 million from US lobby groups like NRA in order to weaken Australia's stellar gun laws. #bondiattack #auspol

Some people are not fit to hold power over the lives of others.
Here is a true story- one I lived through as it happened.
You be the judge.
Thanks Bilal Cleland for sharing this saga again now.
In 2018 a two year old girl, who had been born in the detention camp on Nauru was reported to be dying of encephalitis.
Senior medical staff from the rather primitive hospital in Nauru said that they did not have the requisite specialists or equipment.
An email said: "Again, I would like to reiterate that I recommend Australia as the first option".
But Dutton wasn't having a bar of that. Given he didn't want the bad publicity of a two year old dying, he relented and sent the child to a hospital in Papua New Guinea, costing $137,000.
While she did improve slightly in Port Moresby, the hospital staff there knew they were out of their depth in the treatment of such a sick little girl.
The hospital did not have a paediatric anaesthesiologist to properly sedate her during the
MRI she needed, nor a paediatric neurologist, both of which were necessary for the girl's care.
But the Department of Home Affairs doubled down, and insisted PNG was adequately sufficient, contrary to all expert medical advice it had been receiving.
The girl then took a turn for the worse and the situation became dire.
It took an urgent injunction hearing at the federal court in Melbourne where Home Affairs counsel Andrew Yuile, actually argued that equipment and

But the Department of Home Affairs doubled down, and insisted PNG was adequately sufficient, contrary to all expert medical advice it had been receiving. The girl then took a turn for the worse and the situation became dire. It took an urgent injunction hearing at the federal court in Melbourne where Home Affairs counsel Andrew Yuile, actually argued that equipment and

staff could be provided to the hospital in PNG within seven days to prevent her having to come to Australia, or that she could receive treatment in a third country.
Judge Bernard Murphy questioned the department's decision to send the girl to PNG instead of Australia in the first place, and said the department was
"scurrying around trying to make arrangements" to do the tests in PNG with no guarantee that this could even be achieved.
"We are talking about a two-year-old child who at some point ….. it was feared that she would die", Murphy said.
He ordered that the girl and her mother be brought to Brisbane to undergo the tests at a tertiary-level hospital within 48 hours, and that her father, who remained on Nauru, should also be allowed to join them as soon as possible because he was fluent in English and the little girl and her mother weren't.
"To rely on interpreters is to take another risk with the applicant's health", the judge said.
The department resisted every move to save the girl's life every step of the way and were suggesting she even be taken to a hospital in Taiwan for further care.
This cost the taxpayer hundreds of thousands of dollars (undisclosed settlement) in legal fees and delayed treatment for ages for what reason, I ask you?
And how much was expended on this when simply bringing the girl to Brisbane in the first place would have saved so much money not least of which was a wasted trip to PNG?
This is Peter Dutton.

Dutton's policy is to give people who can already afford to enter the housing market a tax payer subsidy for five years on the repayments they can already afford to make. It does not increase supply, help lower income people get a deposit, or enter the market. It's a tax break for the wealthy.
