You could try asking round for CCTV and Ring footage and then put it on your website.

My grandfather was an early radio pioneer. Hereโ€™s the run sheet from a broadcast in 1922 from his radio shed at home. He had an aerial in the garden. Instead of a water feature in the sweeping curved driveway- there was an aerial ๐Ÿคฃ

Like with most 'get rich quick' schemes, the authors have overlooked the obvious flaw - pigs don't have any money.

That makes sense. I sometimes wish we could experience things from the past in the way people of the time would have experienced them, and swap our preconceptions and contextual knowledge for more historically accurate ones!

Internet Archive went down just when I was in the middle of something. It is obviously part of a global conspiracy to make me do some housework, but I'm on to them.

Researching some 1920s and 30s radio broadcasts, and after a lifetime of pre-recorded programmes, repeats, home taping, and now listen-on-demand, it's hard to get my head round quite how ephemeral they were. Much more like going to a play or a concert (and even some of them are recorded now).

Itโ€™s mostly a synthetic version these days, but I still think of it as kapok, and hopefully some other crafters do tooโ€ฆ

I kept finding little bits on the carpet today, and have no idea where they came from. I keep a bag of the synthetic stuff for craft projects.

Was wondering what was on at the Proms tonight, looked it up and the programme with Dvorak's 'New World Symphony' was just starting. Love that piece (especially the last movement, which has runs to die for), so a nice bit of serendipity there ๐Ÿ˜Š

behold the "HTML bomb"

It's a counterattack for AI companies that persistently scrape and rescrape your web site, even when you tell them not to

when a scraper grabs it, it becomes a 10-gig HTML page and ๐Ÿ’ฃ goes the scraper

I'd love to have a poke around Netherleigh some time. It was built by William Robertson, who was the business partner of Henry Hawkins of Kin Edar, and is very similar in style and scale to what Kin Edar would have been (though it dates to around 10 years later). #OnePlaceStudiesPlus

A sandcastle about to be inundated. The gull is unconcerned.

Vexed debate on Cromer beach with the five-year-old in which the words โ€˜One of us has a PhD in medieval military history, and the other has been demanding ice cream rather than building this castle, which one are you?โ€™, were uttered.

The Normans never had this trouble.

This is a great question, and it has me stumped! On the basis of 1000s of newspaper reports, *something* post-probate is regularly being published *somewhere*, and whatever it is is more detailed than the published annual will calendars. Hope you find the answer.
