Sure, a basic capacity for empathy is a prerequisite for humanity and culture. But that is not Arendt's point. In the Nazi perpetrator Eichmann, she saw “lack of imagination” and “inability to think” at work (“The Banality of Evil”), not a lack of empathy. 6/

Der viel beschworene "acoustic turn" – wie kriegt er die Kurve?

Das Akustisch-Kognitive eröffnet ein noch grenzenloses
Spielfeld – für die Forschung, aber auch die gestaltenden Disziplinen, von der Philosophie bis zur Literatur und anderen Künsten.

Zum Beispiel könnten wir den Tod versöhnlicher verstehen. Könnten vielleicht mitmenschlicher miteinander leben. Oder eine neue Art von Beschwingtheit entwickeln, um die Epoche des "post-" zu überwinden.
