Wow, we had an identical day yesterday! I also ran (first thing, too hot after that) and was so tired after, I had myself a siesta. Too hot to do much else. Kid-free days off are sweet!

Yep - I'm not sure how useful I was professionally when I returned to work. I must have been half asleep at best and when I wasn't i was more likely talking with colleagues about "the baby" and "how's mum?" than any actual work stuff.

We had absolutely no complications following the birth of my son and the two weeks paternity leave was still gone in an instant. So, hard agree!

Have you tried Parkrun? After a few failed attempts to get into running, I tried it a couple of years ago for the first time and haven't looked back! The feeling of being part of a movement keeps me going back.
