AI Coding Tool Cline Has Raised $27 Million To Help Developers Control Their AI Spend Software developers are often frustrated by obscure pricing plans for the AI coding tools they use. With $27 million in new funding, Cline is developing tools to help them manage their AI bills.

Big congrats to @cline.bot on their $32M Series A raise! 2.7M devs strong and a great open-source product that doesn't degrade inference for their bottom line.

I'm obsessed w/ robots that can do real-world tasks reliably (vs general intelligence), and created this repo to track papers that have progressed here.

The new LeRobot arm calibration for SO-101 is so sick - just wiggle the joints. ∞ times better than SO-100. Props to team for innovative solution.

Google's new UI designer chatbot Stitch is interesting. I was able to design a little app workflow with it and talk back and forth to improve it.

A business owner tested if customers would pay more for American-made. The results were 'sobering.' Ramon van Meer, the founder of Afina, wanted to see if people would buy a higher-priced, Made-in-USA version of his filtered shower head β€” so he ran a test.

A business A/B tested identical China-made vs US-made shower heads (latter 2Γ— more expensive but promoted as "US-made").
The result after 2 weeks: 584 China sales, 0 US sales.

My thoughts on why LLMs won't replace junior programmers - they simply don't do the same thing. LLMs are better positioned as productivity multipliers for all engineers rather than replacements for any specific role.
