A business owner tested if customers would pay more for American-made. The results were 'sobering.' Ramon van Meer, the founder of Afina, wanted to see if people would buy a higher-priced, Made-in-USA version of his filtered shower head — so he ran a test.

A business A/B tested identical China-made vs US-made shower heads (latter 2× more expensive but promoted as "US-made").
The result after 2 weeks: 584 China sales, 0 US sales.

My thoughts on why LLMs won't replace junior programmers - they simply don't do the same thing. LLMs are better positioned as productivity multipliers for all engineers rather than replacements for any specific role.
